CELA is a national non-profit organization established by Canadian public libraries to provide equitable public library services for Canadians with print disabilities. Over 600 public library systems across Canada are already CELA members and serve over 85 per cent of Canadians. The Public Library Services Branch of Alberta’s Municipal Affairs has subscribed to CELA on behalf of all public libraries in Alberta. Your public library and CELA make it possible for those with print disabilities in your community to gain easy access to a wealth of reading materials, in formats of their choice, right in their own communities through their local public library.
Eligible patrons simply need a valid public library card with a Print-Disabled code assigned to their patron record, and then you can sign them up for CELA using the online registration form.
